From November 29th to December 1st, Zaozhuang City in Shandong Province held an on-site promotion meeting for the construction of the city's "strengthening the city through industry and promoting the city through industrial development" projects, observing 32 projects on site. In the morning of November 29th, the observation team visited QW SOLAR's Heterojunction (HJT) PV modules and energy storage product construction project in Shizhong District, Zaozhuang.
The project is invested and constructed by Shandong QW SOLAR New Energy Technology Co., Ltd, with a total investment of 12.284 billion yuan and an area of approximately 1000 acres. The project aims to produce 15GW of Heterojunction (HJT) cells, 15GW of HJT PV modules, and 5GWh of energy storage products annually. The project is planned to be implemented in two phases, with the first phase investment of 1 billion yuan covering an area of 150 acres and building a 2GW HJT module and an 1GWh energy storage product production line. After completion, it's expected to achieve an annual output value of about 5 billion yuan and tax revenue of about 160 million yuan. The second phase of the project plans to invest 11.284 billion yuan, covering an area of 850 acres, and is scheduled to start construction in the first half of 2023. At the same time, plans for a 2000-acre zero-carbon smart PV industrial park with an annual output value of 80 billion yuan are actively being promoted.
Project advantages: First, it has strong R&D capabilities. The core technologies are all independently developed, and three major business segments have been established in PV modules, energy storage batteries, and energy solutions, with products involving energy storage products, HJT cells/modules, etc., widely used in scenarios such as building-integrated photovoltaics, large-scale PV power plants, agricultural-photovoltaic complementary systems, distributed photovoltaics, charging stations, and other energy storage and charging scenarios. Second, the product technology is leading. The GIWA5 series heterojunction photovoltaic module launched by the project has an average batch conversion efficiency of 24.6%, and the overall area conversion efficiency of the module exceeds 23%. With its advantages of high efficiency, economy, safety, reliability, etc., it has become a new benchmark in the industry. Third, it aims to build a zero-carbon smart factory. The production plant follows the construction philosophy of green, zero-carbon, environmental protection, and fully intelligent, and will become the first zero-carbon smart factory in Shandong Province.
Currently, the equipment for the first phase of the project has been gradually delivered to the site. QW SOLAR New Energy is rapidly organizing personnel and orderly deploying equipment installation and commissioning work. The full production of the first phase of the project is imminent.
